Replacement Side Mirrors for Repair

The side mirror on a car was initially installed by automobile manufacturers about 1912 so replacement side mirrors have been available for a number of years. Sometimes these mirrors were referred to as wing mirrors or side view mirrors. They were attached to the actual fender but today they are usually attached directly to the door housing on most vehicles.
They certainly have evolved since that time as they can collapse or fold over to the vehicle body or even are hard wired to the vehicle which makes replacement side mirrors from an online auto parts store far more expensive than there were in the past.
Side Mirror Options:
Generally when you look for a side mirror in the auto accessories section of an online website you will for one that replaces what you have on your existing vehicle. This may be as simple as chrome housing and arm and a simple mirror or it may be one of those mirrors that have a LED turning signal imbedded in the mirror face. The mirror could have a defrosting element in the housing. Also replacement side mirrors come in right and left sides or passenger or driver side of the vehicle.
